Brainspotting Therapy
Healing the Brain Through the Eyes
Brainspotting (BSP) is a powerful, neuroscience-informed therapy that helps people access, process, and release trauma, emotional pain, and limiting beliefs held deep within the body and nervous system. By using specific eye positions linked to stored experiences in the brain, BSP allows clients to process distress without needing to talk through every detail.
At Path to Peace Wellness, we offer Brainspotting to support individuals who feel stuck, overwhelmed, or burdened by unresolved pain—even when they can’t explain why. Whether you're carrying trauma, navigating chronic anxiety or depression, or simply wanting to reconnect with your authentic self, Brainspotting can offer a pathway to lasting change.

What is Brainspotting?
Brainspotting is based on the idea that “where you look affects how you feel.” During a session, your therapist will help you find an eye position (or 'brainspot') that connects to an emotional or physical experience. This spot is believed to access the part of the brain where the issue is stored. With gentle, attuned support, your body and brain begin to process and release what’s been held there—sometimes for years.
Unlike traditional talk therapy, BSP does not require you to re-tell or re-live traumatic events. Your body leads the way, while your therapist helps track your responses with care and presence. Many clients report feeling calmer, clearer, and more grounded after sessions, even when they can’t fully explain what shifted.
What Can Brainspotting Help With?
Brainspotting can be effective for:
- Trauma (including developmental, medical, and complex trauma)
- Anxiety and panic
- Depression and low self-worth
- Chronic stress and emotional overwhelm
- Grief and loss
- Performance blocks (e.g., academic, creative, athletic)
- Somatic symptoms and tension
- Relational wounds and attachment issues
Some clients also choose Brainspotting for personal growth or to access deeper self-awareness. Because BSP works at the nervous system level, it often leads to insight, healing, and change even when words fall short.
Each session is unique. Your therapist will help you settle into a calm and grounded state using resourcing techniques or nervous system tools. You’ll be guided to identify a focus for the session—this could be a body sensation, memory, emotion, or vague feeling of being “stuck.” From there, your therapist will help you find a brainspot using eye position and bilateral music (if desired).
Who it Helps
If you've tried talk therapy but feel like something is missing… If you carry stress, pain, or trauma in your body…
If you're open to deeper healing—even if you can’t name exactly what needs healing…
Brainspotting might be a good fit.
At Path to Peace Wellness, we use Brainspotting with children, teens, and adults in a way that honors each person’s pace, nervous system, and readiness. You don’t need to have all the answers before you begin.

Is it right for me?
You may talk, cry, stay quiet, or simply notice what comes up. Your therapist remains present and attuned throughout the process, offering support as your brain and body do the healing work they already know how to do.
Ready to Begin?
Healing doesn’t have to be loud. Sometimes it starts with stillness, a soft gaze, and a safe connection.
