Play Therapy

Play Therapy helps children and Young Adults express emotions, process experiences, and build coping skills through the natural language of play. Using toys, art, and imagination, it creates a safe space for healing, growth, and emotional development.

Through Play

Play Therapy is a powerful, evidence-based approach that helps children express their thoughts, emotions, and experiences in a way that feels natural to them—through play. While adults often rely on words to process their feelings, children communicate best through play, using toys, art, storytelling, and imagination to work through challenges, understand their emotions, and develop healthy coping skills.

In a safe and supportive environment, our trained therapists gently guide children through purposeful play that reflects their inner world. Whether a child is dealing with anxiety, grief, trauma, behavioral struggles, or family transitions like divorce or adoption, Play Therapy provides a space where they can feel seen, heard, and understood—without pressure or expectation.

Each session is tailored to the child’s age, developmental level, and specific needs. For example, a child experiencing anger might use role-play to explore different ways of expressing frustration, while a child processing loss may use dolls or drawings to symbolically share their feelings. Through this process, children build emotional resilience, increase self-awareness, improve social skills, and gain confidence in handling life’s ups and downs.

At Path to Peace Wellness, we view play as more than fun—it’s a bridge to healing, growth, and a brighter future for your child.

Who it Helps

Play Therapy helps children and young adults/Teens who are experiencing anxiety, trauma, grief, behavioral challenges, or life transitions like divorce or loss. It’s especially beneficial for kids who struggle to express their feelings with words.

How it Works

In Play Therapy, children use toys, art, and imaginative play to express their thoughts and emotions in a safe, supportive environment. A trained therapist gently guides the play to help the child process experiences, build coping skills, and develop emotional awareness.
